Future of Music Festival 2017 - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Competition Winner, Katie
Students studying music and music technology at Bridgwater & Taunton College were excited to present their end-of-year music festival and launch BrainWorks the College’s brand new record label yesterday.

This annual event showcases Further Education students' music across a range of music courses. The festival gives members of the public the opportunity to see and hear the creative works of our students and have access to a wide range of workshops and seminars from both local and national exhibitors discussing subjects including copyright and royalty streams to a drum & bass production masterclass.

Minirigs Production Manager, Rich Howells, who studied a music technology degree there was invited to the event. Minirigs were in force at the show, demoing the product, talking with current students and giving a little advice where warranted. We ran a contest and one lucky winner, Katie Gillespie of the music technology course, got to take home a brand new purple MRBT-2! Rich said "Apologies to BBC Introducing, Vocalzone and the PRS for blasting music at them all day. The Minirig mixtapes definitely went down a treat, so if you haven’t heard them, they’re linked on our website. I personally recommend the Slipmatt mix, but there’s something on there for everyone!"
