Minirig v1

Common Faults

I have a connectivity problem with crackling and loss of signal – especially when I move the Minirig or wiggle the cable. Is the unit faulty?

1. The first port of call is to ensure you have pushed the audio cable firmly into the Minirig/Subwoofer.

If this is not the issue:

2. Please try using a different audio cable. If your Minirig works after this elimination process it is clear your original audio cable has been damaged.

If this does not solve the problem:

3. Please try changing the audio device i.e. IPOD or PHONE, if this solves the problem it may be a fault with your audio device.

To purchase a new charger cable please go to accessories page listed above.

If none of the above solves your problem please contact us directly using the contact information shown on the right of the page.

I have problems when charging my Minirig/Subwoofer, the LED will not flash or is stuck on a certain colour.

Still not working:

Questions & Answers

"Can I charge the Minirig using the mains USB adapter that came with my phone?

Yes. You can charge the Minirig from any USB port. It only draws 500mA max which is the minimum rating for any USB port.

“hi, may i ask what the current delivery times are as I am thinking about ordering one of these speakers. I am going on hols on 26th March and wanted a speaker for then which is why im asking?

Please check the current stock and delivery times on the Buy Now page.

“I love my Minirig, how can I help spread the word!?”

If you love Minirig then you can help us by “liking” this website (bottom right of home page), tweeting about it, telling all your friends (the more of your friends who have them then the bigger your link ups can be!) and by leaving a product review and liking the Minirig on Amazon.

“If I buy two Minirigs, will they give me stereo sound?”

Yes they will… and it will sound amazing! However, you need to split the left and right channels with a stereo splitter cable.

Is there a limit to the number of Minirigs you can connect up?

Obviously there is practical limits but we have had some great parties with over 20 Minirigs linked up in a chain without any problems.

We would love to hear about your Minirig link ups too!

“Will the Minirig work with my iPhone?”

Yes, the Minirig will work with any phone or device with a standard 3.5mm headphone output.

You can control the volume using the volume rocker or volume control on the device.

Why does the Minirig have a round charger port instead of a standard micro USB?
There are several reasons:

1) Micro USB is the standard right now, but every few years the standard changes and the old connectors become obsolete. Mini USB was replaced by Micro USB and now reversible USB micro C will be replacing the micro connector soon.
2) We use a 5.5/2.1mm barrel socket which is in fact one of the most common power connectors and has been around for decades. It's not going anywhere.
3) It's round form and size perfectly matches the Minirig audio sockets and look of the product.
4) Small USB connectors are difficult to plug in, especially as you have to get them the right way round. The big round barrel socket is much easier to use and plug in.
5) It's airtight whereas micro-USB is not - this is vital as it forms part of the acoustic enclosure
6) It's much more adaptable. For example we can use it to take power out and put power in with a variety of voltages and currents.
7) It's much more robust, reliable and longer lasting than micro USB as the connector pins are larger and less delicate
